General information
All student activities are scored according to the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS). Each year carries 60 ECTS credits. The basic applied studies last for three years (six semesters) and carry 180 ECTS credits. The studies are realized in the form of class-based teaching (face-to-face) in the Serbian language. The study program is realized within the field of Social Sciences and Humanities. The subfield is Economics.
Qualification
After completing basic applied studies, a student acquires the title of Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA). According to the National Framework of Qualifications of the Republic of Serbia (NFQS), the completion of basic applied studies leads to the sixth level; sub-level one (level 6.1). The requirement for acquiring this level is previously achieved level 4 of NFQS, and passed general, professional, or artistic graduation.
Teaching and exams
Classes are held in a one-semester subject pattern. Student activities during the semester (pre-examination obligations), such as colloquiums, seminar papers, tests, and other activities are scored. The proportion of the number of points obtained in the pre-examination obligations and on the exam is determined for each subject individually, whereby the pre-examination obligations participate with at least 30 and up to 50 points. The final exams are taken at the School in the appropriate exam terms, which are: January, April, June, September, and October. By fulfilling the pre-examination obligations and taking the exam, the student can achieve a maximum of 100 points, whereby a score of at least 51 points for a grade of 6, a score of 61 points for a grade of 7, a score of at least 71 points for a grade of 8, a score of at least 81 points for a grade of 9, and a score of at least 91 points for a grade of 10.
Goals and outcomes
The goals of Railway Economy and Commercial Business study program are to enable students to apply the knowledge and skills needed to be included in the work process in the field of economic and commercial affairs on the railway. The study program is designed in accordance with the Law on Higher Education and the Bologna Declaration, whose course programs are focused in the first year on acquiring general education knowledge, and in the second and third year on acquiring professional and professional-applied knowledge for the application of railway economy.
Study program of basic applied studies Railway Economy and Commercial Businesss hould enable professional economists to master the necessary knowledge in order to professionally deal with the business of commercial business of the railway.
The aim of the program content in the study program of basic applied studies of Railway Economy and Commercial Business is to train students for professional business of railway business, which requires appropriate knowledge in the organization of passenger and goods transport, railway exploitation and other disciplines related to this specific occupation.
The outcome of the learning process is that students master this study program acquire:
- ability to analyze, synthesize and predict solutions and consequences;
- mastering the procedures and methods required for the commercial operation of the railway;
- development of critical and self-critical thinking;
- development of communication skills and ability to work in a team on the commercial business of the railway;
- ability to collect data and statistical processing of railway commercial operations.

- railway exploitation with an emphasis on the use of passenger and freight cars;

- business economics and finance of railways and other companies;
- business ethics and business communications of railways and other companies.
Continuation of studies
After completing basic applied studies, a student can enroll in specialist applied studies or master applied studies within higher education institutions in applied studies. Master applied studies of Transport Economy and Commercial Business is organized within the Railway School of Applied Studies
