Requirements:
Goal: Acquiring the necessary knowledge in the field of structural statics and relation to other study programs relevant for the fields of mechanical engineering and constructions.
Outcome: Students are capable of making a rational approach and the application of knowledge in solving the task for the calculation and maintaining the static stability of the structure.
Contents of the course
Theoretical instruction:
  1. Rigid body statics
  2. Plane system of parallel forces and plane coupling theory
  3. Sliding friction
  4. Body's center of gravity
  5. Influence lines, properties
  6. The most unfavorable position of equally distributed load, concentrated load for different shapes of influential lines.
  7. Statically determined solid girders, girders and frames with joints
  8. Deformations and displacements of solid and lattice girders
  9. Application of the method of elastic weights in lattice girders
  10. Statically indeterminate solid and lattice girders, conditional equations, reactions and shear forces
Practical instruction (Problem solving sessions/Lab work/Practical training):
  1. Classroom exercises: Solving tasks harmonized with the material in lectures and making independent tasks in the form of homework.
