Project goals

The main objective of this project was to improve the educational system in the field of textile and apparel production in secondary and tertiary vocational education in Serbia, Slovenia and Turkey, through an exchange of experiences and the development of teaching materials, i.e. a textbook for technical construction, modeling and completing techniques of denim garments. Each school participating in the project had the following tasks:

  • Adoption and application of examples of good practice in the field of textile and apparel industry.
  • Design of textbooks for construction, modeling and completing of denim clothing, to be used as professional literature for the development and support of employees both in educational institutions and the business sector.
  • Networking of relevant actors in the field of textile and apparel industry (linking education and economy), in the country and abroad.

The role of DTM on the project

As the only higher education institution included in the project, DTM provided valuable expertise and insight into the process of continued vocational education in the textile and apparel field. The school took part in all steps of the project, attending study meetings, establishing the scope of the standards to be used in the textbok, and working on the textbook (with two DTM professors as co-authors).
